BCN Programs
The Bethlehem Center's programs fall within four main categories: Child Development, Youth Development, Adult Programming and Community Outreach. We are proud to announce some of the recent accomplishments of those programs:
- Bethlehem Centers is one of only 13 agencies selected by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) to provide underage alcohol prevention programs in two of Nashville's poorest performing middle schools. Bethlehem's model and curriculum have been selected for a national video produced by SAMHSA.
- Eighteen four-year-old preschoolers are "ready to succeed" in kindergarten with 150% improved reading readiness scores and 169% improved vocabulary scores over the previous year.
- 36 participants in our Workforce Development program have found employment in the past year. Prior to completion of Bethlehem's program, most of our participants had received an average of $142 per month or more in government assistance (not including food stamps and rent supplements).
- 100 elderly receive mobile meals each day, and 25 seniors who participate in our on-site program are able to continue to live independently because of BCN.
- 138 six-week-olds to 12 year olds enrolled in our infant, toddler, pre-school, and after-school programs, all of which were accredited for the ninth year by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and all of which were again given the highest quality rating (Three Stars) from Tennessee's childcare licensing board.
Bethlehem Centers provides comprehensive services that help over 6,000 people annually. We meet the immediate needs of our clients and motivate them to reach the next level in their lives by changing their direction to improve their situation and become self-reliant.
