UMC

Bethlehem Centers of Nashville is a National Mission Institution of the Women’s Division, General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church.

More than 100 years ago, Estelle Haskins, a Caucasian missionary, and Sallie Sawyer, an African American Fisk University graduate, merged services to start a kindergarten, well baby clinic, sewing circle and recreation programs.

These two women broke racial and gender barriers of their time to form a ministry to help those in need. Today, Bethlehem Centers continues its ministry of changing lives and building futures of struggling working families.   As a family resource center we remain committed to the training and care of children and youth, serving the needs of seniors, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and providing hope, help and healing for those in need.

To help our ministry consider making a commitment of FAITH, SERVICE AND FINANCIAL support.

  • A FAITH commitment simply states that you will pray, invite friends to commit and share the BCN story.

  • A SERVICE commitment simply states that you are ready to put your FAITH into ACTION by volunteering and investing your time.

For fiscal year ending 2010 the United Methodist Women, Women’s Division GBGM and the United Methodist Church have contributed more than $235,000.

Bethlehem Centers of Nashville is a conference advance special, #110.
